The Process
USA College Breakdown
There are seven main college levels in the USA. these are outlined below. When we evaluate your child we make sure you are aware of what level we think they are at and what level we will be targeting for recruitment.

NCAA Division 1
This is the pinnacle of college basketball. The majority of athletes here in Australia will find it extremely difficult to go straight into this division. Div 1 offer 15 full scholarship places. Most of time this is reserved for state or national level Australian Athletes. Div 1 also requires an acceptable level of academic achievement.

Juco Division 1
Junior colleges or 'Jucos' as they are often referred to, are 2 mostly 2 year colleges. These are for student athletes who are coming from overseas or are not at the level academically to attend NCAA universities. Div 1 Jucos have the ability to give full scholarships for students and can get athletes into NCAA Div 1 if they are good enough.

NCAA Division 2
Similar to NCAA Div 1, Division 2 is a lower level but still extremely hard to crack as an Australian athlete. Mostly state level athletes from Australia end up here or in Division 1 Juco colleges.
Div 2 also have less scholarship spots than Div 1 and generally don't include boarding and meals. Academic requirements are similar to Division 1.

Juco Division 2 & 3
As per the Div 1 Jucos these are for athletes from overseas where it's more difficult for NCAA programs to bring in athletes they don't know a lot about, and academically challenged athletes. Div 2 programs can offer part scholarships and Div 3 Jucos don't offer scholarships. However, Jucos are much cheaper to attend than NCAA 4 year universities.

NCAA Division 3
NCAA Division 3 programs are predominantly academic based programs. There are no athletic scholarships available and they generally recruit athletes who are more interested in their degrees than basketball. This isn't a division we focus on.

NAIA
NAIA are 4 year universities where athletes can attend and get a great degree on academic part scholarships but the basketball isn't of a high level. Most NAIA Universities don't offer athletic scholarships but a mentioned can offer assistance to talented academically inclined athletes.
The Team App
All athletes need to download our team app from the App Store. We will send you a code which will allow you to join the Pride Pathways team. This is where we promote our athletes to mostly Junior colleges and some NCAA D1 and D2 programs. As mentioned above, we don't recommend you send any messages to programs that end up following your child. We request that you just keep us informed of any contact and will tell you how to respond.
We will build the profiles and promote your child. We understand when athletes need to be promoted and how. If you send messages yourself you are jut doubling up on messages we have already sent and programs can become annoyed at us and your child.

REGISTER FOR THE MADE HOOPS TOURNAMENTS
https://www.madehoops.com/Signup_Parents.aspx
Register as a parent and then register your child after that.
Film games
You MUST film as many games a possible. The easiest way to do this is to purchase a camera stand with a smart phone connection (Ebay or camera shop) and start a YouTube account and get over 50 people to follow it. You need 50 followers to be able to livestream games straight to the YouTube account. Sit on the sideline in the middle of the court and livestream straight to your YouTube account. We will then chose the best videos to link directly to your Childs profile and share with coaches. Video below.
High School Subjects
Outside of Maths, Science, English and History, these subjects are great to increase a certified GPA score.
Religion
A foreign language
Creative Writing
Psychology 101
Humanities
Biology
Statistics
Business Math
Photography
Film Studies
Applied Math
Communication Studies
The most important thing is to make sure they are doing subjects they enjoy and can perform well in. USA colleges track back to the start of grade 9 so it's important to start this selection process as early as possible.
